Jeddah-based Arabian Bemco Contracting Company has been awarded the chiller plant package

on the Qatar Cool district cooling plant project in West Bay.

The estimated $28 million contract calls for the construction of a 30,000-tonne-capacity plant by the end of the year. The consultant is the local Arab Engineering Bureau with Qatar Cool’s foreign shareholder, Dubai-registered National Central Cooling Company (Tabreed).

The project’s network package is being carried out by CAT International Qatar under an estimated $20 million contract awarded in January. Qatar Cool is a joint venture of the local United Development Company and Tabreed.
